The City of Glendale has some upcoming events geared toward both parents and kids. There’s even a Cops vs. Youth basketball game scheduled for this weekend. I would love to see that, but only if it involved police in their uniforms and kids who have been in trouble with the law. Am I right or am I right? There is also a “Parent’s Nite Out” on the calendar for January 22nd. This is an opportunity for parents to have a night to themselves while the kids get their own fun night for a minimal fee. I’m guessing now that the holidays are over, parents could really use a night out!
Cops vs. Youth Basketball Game
On Saturday January 9th, the Special Enforcement Detail of the Glendale Police Department will host a basketball game involving Glendale Police personnel and local youth. The game will be played in the gym of Pacific Park. The event will take place from 9:00 -12:00 Food and beverages will be provided from a local vendor. There will be 16 players involved in the game; ten youth and eight police officers.
Officers of the Special Enforcement Detail have developed strong relationships with the youth in the community and have become role models for many. Please come out and support your local officers and the youth who have stepped up to the challenge (City of Glendale).
